December update

It’s been two months since the Kickstarted completed, and things are looking good. I’ve got a big spreadsheet listing all the items that are needed for the completed project (mostly artwork but also the soundtrack, backer contributions, and some extra written content from myself) and so far the number of completed items is looking very healthy.

Speaking of the art, if you’re interested in the process the artwork development undergoes, look at the images below. You can see how Omercan progresses from an initial brief to an outline, a proof, and finally to the finished piece. I’m particularly fond of this image; a church minister and her warden both looking suitably sinister.

Will has also sent me previews of the soundtrack and I have to say it’s so good that it gives me chills every time I listen to it. I can’t wait for you all to hear it and use it in your games.

I have also been putting feelers out for a new cover for the book. Sadly, the existing cover which I adore isn’t suitable for a printed book due to size and resolution and the original artist is unable to work on a new version, so I’ve had to find someone to create a new cover that will adorn the hard- and soft-back book (and the PDF, of course). We should see some initial designs in the new year.

I had intended to run some demo games over on the WTMHL Discord earlier this month, but sadly I had to cancel due to catching COVID (my first time, it wasn’t fun). Now I’ve recovered I’m fully intending to get the games back up and running in the new year. If you fancy exploring Harrowmire with some fellow backers, pop on over!

I hope you all had a pleasant seasonal holiday, and you have a happy New Year.

See you all in 2023.
