March Update: the PDF is ready!

The final pieces of art were sent to me last week, I spent the weekend formatting everything and making some last-minute layout tweaks, and I’m pleased to say the digital version of When the Moon Hangs Low Second Edition is now ready to go!

Later this week you will all receive an email from DriveThruRPG with a link to download your pdf copy of When the Moon Hangs Low. Keep an eye on your inbox, and if you don’t receive anything by next week, please let  me know.

Once you have your copy of the pdf please read through and let me know if you spot any mistakes or issues. In particular, make sure your name is in the credits if you agreed to have it featured there. If you do spot anything, please let me know by sending an email to info@isolation-games.co.uk

The next steps

After about two weeks to allow for any amendments, I will send the files off to the printers for approval. This generally takes a few days, and once they’ve been processed, I’ll be sent some proofs to ensure everything is looking good. Assuming the proofs are fine (and they usually are) then I can enable the books in the store, and they will be available for everyone to order.

I will update everyone when that’s about to happen, but the process will be generally similar to the pdfs: you will receive an email from DriveThruRPG containing a code that will entitle you to order a hard- or soft-cover version of WTMHL depending on your backer level. You will need to pay the base print cost and shipping at this stage. Printing occurs in either the UK or the US, but this is all handled by DTRPG and depends on where you’re located.

The Soundtrack

Will is putting the finishing touches to the last track of the soundtrack. Unfortunately we couldn’t get the intended tavern soundtrack for the Slaughtered Lamb, but as an alternative Will is coming up with a sinister nautical theme for the Old Town and Docks area, which should provide a good background for any creepy, investigative parts of your games.

I plan to put the soundtrack videos together next week and have them up on YouTube as soon as possible. I will keep you all posted and let you know as soon as the soundtrack is available.

Future developments

As if I’m not busy enough with the above, I’ve already started thinking of future projects to work on. I have a small trove of half-finished ancillary material for When the Moon Hangs Low: notes from playtesting games, remnants of abandoned ideas, and a small stack of material that would have become the stretch goals had they been unlocked.

From all this I have two immediate projects I plan to work on after the Kickstarter is done and dusted. The first is a randomly generated trek through Bishopsgate Sanitorium, which has become an ever-shifting labyrinth due to some strange happenings. A nightmare waiting to happen, but one filled with rewards for those brave or foolhardy enough to enter.

The second is a short adventure I’ve already run for some hunters on the Discord, which introduces a new faction to Harrowmire: the Unmade. This cult of pain-worshipping flesh-sculptors are disciples of an ancient evil that has escaped the Necropolis and now threatens all of Harrowmire.

Hopefully those sound interesting!
